CABALISTIC:

relating to or having a hidden meaning. Back to Top

CARTOMANCY:

practice of divination and/or self-introspection through the use of cards such as Tarot or Angel cards. Back to Top

CAUL:

flap of skin over the face at time of birth. Those born with a caul are thought to have an easier time seeing beyond the veil. Back to Top

CEROMANCY:

divination practice in which the shapes of melting wax are studied in order to divine the future. Back to Top

CHANNELING:

practice wherein an individual opens their spirit to allow communications from those who are in the spiritual or paranormal realm. Back to Top

CHIROMANCER:

one who reads palms to divine the life path of the individual whose palm is being read. Back to Top

CLAIRAUDIENCE:

The ability to perceive sounds which others cannot hear that are said to have emanated from the spirit realm. When a medium conducts a séance and must relay the messages she/he hears, the medium is using their gift of clairaudience to hear the message. Back to Top

CLAIRVOYANCE:

The ability to perceive that which cannot be perceived with the five recognized senses of sight, taste, touch, hearing, and smell. Clairvoyance can also mean or indicate acute intuitive insight and/or perception. Back to Top

CLAIRVOYANT:

One who has the ability to perceive the spirit realm(s) in a variety of ways. This gift manifests in different ways for different people. Back to Top

CONJURE:

normally associated with black magic, to conjure is to call forth a spirit with black magic. Back to Top

COVEN:

Name given to a group of witches. Once thought to require a total of 13 members, covens can be as small as two and as large as your local neighborhood church. Back to Top

CRYSTAL:

quartz and any other transparent mineral. Crystals hold a place of high regard with new age practitioners for either healing (the prime use) or divination. Back to Top

CRYSTAL BALL:

a ball, normally made of high grade glass, crystal, or carved from natural crystal that is used as a tool for divination. The reader or psychic is believed to see events, signs or signals in the depths of the crystal. Back to Top

CURSE:

to wish misfortune, harm, danger, disaster or negative happenings upon another. Back to Top

DEJA VU:

the feeling of having been in that same place and space before. This phenomenon can also be in relationship to an experience. Back to Top

DIABOLISM:

DIVINATION:

foretelling of the future by any of a variety of ways. Back to Top

DOPPLEGANGER:

following the belief that each person has a twin (for each yin a yang, for each yang a yin), the doppelganger is a malicious twin who haunts it's living counterpart. Back to Top

DOWSER:

one who finds locations of underground water (and other liquids such as oil) through the use of rods normally made out of metal. Back to Top

DOWSING:

the act of finding locations of underground water (and other liquids such as oil) through the use of rods normally made out of metal. Back to Top

DRUID:

Title of those who served the Celtic tribes as historians, healers, officiant at religious rites and more. The word has degenerated to mean the entire order of religious/spiritual/healing holy people of the Celtic tribes. Back to Top
